There is something in the Tea
In 1827 Caffeine was discovered, it was originally called “theine”. Evidence later showed that the “theine” of tea was similar with the caffeine in coffee. So the term “theine was dropped. Therefore caffiene in tea and coffee are, basically, identical, the experience is much different due to these three key factors:
Originally called “theine”, caffeine was first discovered in tea in 1827. It was later shown that the “theine” of tea was identical with the caffeine of coffee, and the term “theine” was then dropped. While the caffeine in tea and coffee are, technically, identical, the experience is different due to three key factors:
1. Significantly there is less caffeine in the average cup of tea – including green and white teas especially, as these are usually brewed at shorter times and cooler temperatures.
2. L-theanine, an amino acid found only in tea, has this relaxing effect. That counteracts the jitteriness of caffeine, without therefore reducing the increase in alertness.
3. The high levels of antioxidants found in tea slow the body’s absorption of caffeine – resulting in a gentler increase of the chemical in the system and a longer period of alertness with no crash at the end.
We found in tea high levels of antioxidants, which slow the body’s absorption of caffeine – as a result it has a gentler increase of the chemical in the system and a longer period of alertness without the crash at the end
Perfect Cup of Tea
So what does it take, when it comes to making a perfect cup of tea? Do you know? Here is the fact. If you brew the wrong way, even if it’s the most expensive tea on the market. I can tell you one thing, it’s going to be awful. Whether the great debate is milk-in-first-or-after or even to the type of tea used. Make no mistake, the way you brew is the remaining factor to having that perfect cup of tea.
For most beginners this a lesson learned the hard way. So many people have claims they “don’t like the taste”. But Actually they were repelled by an incorrectly brewed cup of tea. As a result, this can create one of those terrible misconceptions that could possibly last a lifetime. This can easily be avoided with better brewing techniques in the future. Also time and temperature can be added in as a factor, when comes to creating a perfect cup of tea.
Tea Processing
If you didn’t know, the leaves of Camellia sinensis plant, is where all tea comes from. The altering of the shape and chemistry of the leaf, produce the styles of tea, in words what we call “processing” or “manufacturing.
Tea processing has five basic steps; some teas don’t have all of these 5 steps, while other teas repeat the process several times. Plucking, Withering(this allows the leaves to wilt and soften) Rolling (means to shape the leaves and wring out the juices), Oxidizing (see how this works below) and Firing (ie: Drying) is the basic process of the five steps.
What is the most crucial part that defines the categories of tea? It is Oxidizing. When enzymes in the tea leaf interact with oxyen and also after the cell walls are broken apart is when oxidation occurs. This usually can happen fairly quickly, through rolling, cutting or crushing, or more slowly through the natural process of decomposition of the leaf. You will actually, see the same process in a piece of fruit. when left to sit, an apple will slowly turn brown. Also an apple will brown much more quickly, when cut or bruised.
